Dr. Michel (Mike) Thibodeau is a clinical psychologist and member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. His practice focuses on the assessment and treatment of adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety-related disorders. He is committed to delivering efficient evidence-based treatment using cognitive behavioural therapy guided by current research on best practices. His pragmatic skills-based approach is paired with a collaborative therapeutic style to empower his clients to make lasting changes.
Dr. Thibodeau was granted his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Regina. He received specialized training during his residency in the Vancouver Coastal Health program and at sites in several Canadian provinces, the United States, and Australia. He has also received several awards in recognition of his contributions, has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, and has had the pleasure of writing several chapters within handbooks and textbooks on cognitive behavioural therapy. His academic contributions have been cited over 3000 times.
Dr. Thibodeau was previously a staff psychologist at Toronto General Hospital, an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, an associate at CBT Associates in Toronto, and a psychologist at Guelph CBT. He left academia over a decade ago in favor of private practice and has helped over a hundred people with OCD and anxiety.
